At Renewco Power, we continue to make strong progress in the development of solar, wind, BESS and green hydrogen projects with a pipeline now totalling 5GWs from 50 projects across our four target markets of the US, UK, Spain and Italy. As these projects have all been originated since the founding of Renewco back in September 2021, we are excited to have a number of projects nearing the ready to build stage.
In the US, we have added a further 1GW of new solar projects in Alabama, Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi with land secured to our existing pipeline. We now have a pipeline of 2GWs of solar projects in the South East of the US and have two large solar projects, totalling 350 MWs, expected to secure grid in Q2 2024 and then progress to the ready to build stage. We are actively exploring new green field development opportunities in other regions of the US and look forward to announcing our new plans in Q2.
Back in the UK, we are actively developing solar, onshore wind and BESS projects. We are in the final stages of planning for a 56MW solar project in Scotland and have submitted a request for an Environmental Impact Assessment for a 180MW onshore windfarm in Scotland.
Our growing team in Spain have been busy developing solar, wind and BESS projects. We are developing these green field projects with our own team as well as with experienced local co-development partners. We are excited about the opportunities in the fast-growing green hydrogen sector in Spain and have a number of green hydrogen projects in the early stage of development while actively exploring more opportunities in this fast-moving sector. We believe Renewco is well positioned to compete in the green hydrogen sector given its extensive renewable development expertise, skills in structuring complex projects and its ease working in partnership with others. We look forward to announcing some exciting new developments in this space soon.
Lastly, we have recently stepped up our efforts to originate and develop solar and BESS projects in Italy. We are actively developing our own projects and working with a number of co-development partners to expand our pipeline. Although typical solar projects sizes are smaller in Italy, we believe the fundamentals of the Italian solar market are robust and that there will be interesting opportunities for local players.
